Vancouver Trojans

Welcome to the Fall 2024 Trojans season! We're excited to kick off another season of football, with a strong focus on skill development and physical literacy. Our dedicated coaches will work with your child to help them grow into a confident and capable athlete. Our program runs an intramural style as we stay in-house and work together as a family.

Practices will be held on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at our home field, Renfrew Park, located behind the Renfrew Community Center. The season will begin this Friday, September 13th, and run through to the final session on Friday, November 1st.

We look forward to a fantastic season with your athlete!

Letter from your president

For over 75 years, the Vancouver Trojans have been an integral part of our community, dedicated to the sport Introducing the 2024 Vancouver Trojans!of football. As the landscape of football evolves, we too are embracing change, particularly with the recent inclusion of flag football in the Olympic games—an exciting development that has inspired us all.

Several years ago, I made the decision to transition our club from tackle to flag football, anticipating the growth and opportunities this sport would offer. However, this transition has not been without its challenges, particularly in coordinating with neighboring clubs and other football organizations. To address these challenges and better serve our community, I have spearheaded a new executive team and devised a comprehensive plan focused on providing quality flag football experiences for athletes in the Vancouver area.

I am thrilled to announce the launch of the first-ever Vancouver-only Flag Football League. This league will provide local athletes with the opportunity to compete and excel in flag football, with the chance to advance to the provincial flag football championships held in early July. Our dedicated executive team and volunteers will oversee the operation of two formats: 5-on-5 flag football for younger players in grades three through seven, and 7-on-7 for older players.

As we embark on this new chapter, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the elders who have nurtured the tradition of football in Vancouver over the years. I also want to express my appreciation to the parents and community members whose unwavering support has kept the spirit of community football alive.

With enthusiasm and determination, let us usher in a new era of flag football excellence. Go Trojans!
